              Neks D-Carie

       With this exciting new tool we can detect cavities with more precision than x-rays. It utilizes laser light to find even the smallest amounts of caries in the tooth. This means much earlier cavity detection. If fillings are needed, they will be smaller, more conservative, and last significantly longer.

              Cavitron (Ultrasonic Cleaning)

       Cavitron is an ultrasonic cleaning tool. Instead of using traditional sharp scrapers that may cut the gum, Cavitron uses smooth blunt tips that vibrate 30,000 times a minute. The delicate pulse breaks up the plaque structure on contact and cleans both tooth and gum much faster than scraping. It is substantially more efficient, more comfortable and cleans better than traditional methods.

    •     A graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Dr. Khansari then transferred to Boston University to complete dental studies and training. She graduated in 2002 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and began practicing dentistry in San Diego. Dr. Khansari’s patients are amazed at her gentle techniques. The most fearful new patients walk out of her care calm and eager to return. Dr. Khansari treats each patient like family and is renowned in San Diego as a leading creator of perfect smiles. The Dr. takes full pride in performing the highest quality dental care possible. She is a talented dentist with a personal and professional touch.

       By 1988, Dr. Rafie completed dental school prerequisites at the University of California, San Diego and moved to Boston to attend Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine. He graduated from dental school in 1992 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and has been practicing dentistry since then. Dr. Rafie then moved back to his family in San Diego and started Smile Designers with his sister, Dr. Khansari.

       Dr. Rafie is an expert at his craft. He is known for confident and painless dental treatments. Don’t be surprised to be laughing during your appointment, that’s not laughing gas, but rather, Dr. Rafie’s quick wit and humor. Dr. Rafie specializes in the achievement of full smile potential, he is one of San Diego’s leading Invisalign dentists, and has immense experience in all avenues of dentistry.

       Dr. Alireza Khansari is a rare find in San Diego. He is one of only a select few of Board Certified Periodontists in this area. Dr. Alireza Khansari got his specialty degree in periodontology from Boston University in 2002. With this unique and challenging degree, Dr. Alireza Khansari is an important aspect of the Smile Designers Team. His certifications go above and beyond the average dental professional,

       Board Certification requires:

  • Comprehensive written and oral examination covering all phases of periodontal disease and its treatment, including dental implants.
